I remember the day I walked my daughter to kindergarten. I was trying to be positive, you know with that "It's going to be so fun" fake smile on your face. She was so little, even though we had her uniforms fitted, the dress seemed to swallow her up! She sat down at the desk that displayed her name. I left, but then just had to turn around. She had laid her little blond head down on the desk and looked a little discouraged. I cried the whole way home. The next day I began to look into the world of homeschooling. Now, the only homeschoolers I knew where a little nutty, and they always had a lot of kids. I had 2. Do you have to have a certain number of kids and live off of the land to homeschool? Did you have to wear denim jumpers and sensible shoes? Wow, I sure hoped not. Personally, I didn't care much for denim jumpers, and I rather like going to the grocery store for my nicely cut-up and packaged chicken.
I soon found out that, no, of course you didn't have to do all of those things to homeschool.
That next year I worked, researched and finished my own college classes so I could homeschool my kids the next year. As the school year went on, I knew I had made the right choice.
So how do you know? Where do you start?
Stay tuned......
